What is an MP?

Can I have more than one MP?
No. Each of the 650 UK constituencies returns a single MP to the House of Commons. You are represented by the one MP for the constituency you live in.
How often does my MP change?
Your MP is normally elected at a general election, held at least every five years. An MP can also change between elections through a by-election if the seat becomes vacant, or if the sitting MP changes party.
