Voting record lookup
How did my MP vote?
When the House of Commons makes a decision, MPs vote in a division — walking through the "Aye" or "No" lobby. Those votes are recorded. Enter your postcode below to see how your MP has voted: how often they turn up, how their record compares with the Commons average, and when they have broken ranks with their own party.
How to read your MP's record
Participation tells you how often your MP votes, as a share of the divisions they could have voted in — shown next to the Commons average so you have something to compare it to.
Aye and No show the balance of how they voted. Against party counts the times their vote differed from most of their own party — a measure of independence. Top topics highlight the subjects they vote on most.

Common questions
How can I see how my MP voted?
Enter your postcode above. We find your constituency's MP and summarise their House of Commons voting record — their participation rate, how many times they voted Aye and No, and how often they voted against their own party. You can then open their full list of recorded votes.
What does it mean when an MP votes against their party?
Each party usually asks its MPs to vote a particular way (the 'whip'). When an MP's recorded vote differs from the majority of their party in that division, we count it as voting against their party — sometimes called a rebellion.
What is a good participation rate for an MP?
Participation is the share of eligible Commons divisions in which an MP cast a recorded vote, measured over their time in Parliament. We show how each MP compares with the Commons average. A low rate is not automatically bad — ministers, the Speaker, and MPs with leave can vote less often — but it is a useful starting point.
Why might my MP have no voting record?
Newly elected MPs, the Speaker and their deputies, and MPs who do not take their seats may have few or no recorded votes. We only show votes recorded in official Commons division data.
