About
About Ayes & Noes
Ayes & Noes is an independent project that makes the public record of the UK Parliament easier to find, read, and understand. It brings together MPs, parties, constituencies, and House of Commons voting records in one place, drawn from official parliamentary data.
What the site does
We collect how MPs vote in Commons divisions, alongside their debate activity, parliamentary questions, registered interests, and published expenses, and present them as factual records with a clear source. The aim is simple: help people see what their representatives actually do in Parliament, and compare it across MPs, parties, and constituencies.
Our principles
Factual and source-led. Every figure traces back to an official source. We show what the record says and link to where it came from — see Sources & methodology.
Non-partisan. We present the record without ideological labels and without judging motive. We do not tell you whether a vote was right or wrong, or what an MP "really" meant — only what was recorded.
Analysis is labelled. Where we derive measures from the raw data — such as topic tags or voting alignment — we say so and explain the method, so it is never mistaken for an official categorisation.
Built on open data. The site uses official UK Parliament open APIs, with most source material made available under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0.
Independence
Ayes & Noes is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, funded by, or endorsed by any political party, campaign, or government body. Parliament's data is public; this site simply makes it easier to use.
Corrections & contact
