That this House commends the work of Cardiac Risk in the Young in delivering the Dan Hughes Heart Screening Event at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, Newcastle-under-Lyme, on 5 September 2026, held in memory of Daniel Hughes and organised by his father David Hughes and supported by Dan's niece, Frankie Hughes and the rest of the family; notes that 203 young people were screened over the course of the two-day event, with 19 individuals identified as requiring referral for further investigation, the highest number recorded at any two-day Cardiac Risk in the Young screening event; recognises the life-changing and life-saving impact of this important work; further notes that over £715,000 has now been raised for Daniel's memorial fund since his death by his family and friends; and encourages all hon. Members to support the work of Cardiac Risk in the Young, and to consider how greater access to cardiac screening for young people can be championed in all parts of the UK.
