That this House welcomes Humane World for Animals’ Fur Belongs to Animals campaign, celebrating the beauty of fur on its rightful owners and calling for an end to UK fur imports and sales; further welcomes the support of Larry the cat’s X account and its message to, to quote, leave fur-wearing to the professionals; recognises the last Labour Government’s historic legislation making the UK the first country to ban fur farming on animal welfare grounds; regrets that fur produced through cruel farming and trapping practices overseas can still be imported and sold in the UK; notes polling showing that 77 per cent of UK voters support banning imports derived from farming practices deemed too cruel in this country; believes that the UK should not outsource suffering it has prohibited at home; and calls on the Government to finish the job by banning fur imports and sales and delivering a truly Fur Free Britain.
