That this House congratulates Milngavie & Bearsden Men's Shed on finishing second in Scottish Men’s Shed of the Year 2026, a nationwide awards initiative organised by the Scottish Men’s Sheds Association (SMAS), Scotland’s leading men’s health and wellbeing charity; recognises that in 2017 the group worked tirelessly to convert the King George V Park tennis changing rooms into the facility it is today; further recognises the ongoing work carried out by the group to provide a safe and friendly environment where members can pursue creative, physical, purposeful activities of their choice which reduces isolation and contributes to the physical and mental wellbeing of members; notes the incredibly important opportunity for members to drop in for a cup of tea or coffee and have a chat; and celebrates the important role that Milngavie & Bearsden Men’s Shed and all SMSA groups play in creating communities where social isolation is prevented and people are looked out for and supported.
