Tabled 1 September 2026 by Claire Young
That this House congratulates Sharpak Yate on receiving a King's Award for Enterprise 2026 in the category of Innovation for its Litepak technology; notes that Litepak is a recyclable poultry tray developed, tested and manufactured in Yate which reduces packaging weight and plastic use by up to 27 per cent without compromising shelf life, food safety or performance on high speed production lines; further notes that Litepak was previously named Resource Efficient Pack of the Year at the 2022 UK Packaging Awards; recognises that Sharpak Yate is a leading supplier of food grade polypropylene packaging to retailers and food producers in the United Kingdom, and trains its own production workforce locally; believes that reducing plastic at source is more effective than material substitution or disposal in meeting the United Kingdom's plastic reduction and circular economy commitments; commends the skilled employment the company sustains in South Gloucestershire; and wishes the workforce at the Yate site continued success.
