That this House expresses its concern that an estimated £370 million of public money is being spent on the refurbishment of Buckingham Palace at a time when millions of people across the United Kingdom are facing financial hardship; notes that many children continue to grow up in poverty and experience food insecurity, with families relying on food banks and other forms of emergency support; believes that public spending should reflect the needs of people and communities before funding renovations to royal residences; and calls on the Government to prioritise investment in measures to reduce poverty, strengthen the social security system, improve access to affordable and nutritious food, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow up free from hunger and hardship.
