Birth of England in Westmorland in 927

That this House celebrates the birth of England in Westmorland in 927; congratulates the council and the community for marking this on behalf of the nation; recognises the historical significance of the villages of Eamont Bridge and Brougham which are sited where King Æthelstan brought together the most significant kings from across the British Isles; and welcomes the work of England’s 1100th project and those across the community of Westmorland who are preserving this extraordinary moment in our national story.
