Health Matters at New College Lanarkshire

That this House congratulates New College Lanarkshire in their inaugural Health Symposia dedicating a day to Women’s Health and a day to Men’s Health, bringing together a wide multidisciplinary audience to presentations and workshops led by experts as the first event in their Better Than 52 campaign, their response to the fact that healthy life expectancy in North Lanarkshire stands at just 52 years, the lowest in Scotland; acknowledges that the campaign and the activities involved in it will not change this fact but sustained collaboration will, collaboration built on shared learning and ideas; and recognises the determination and innovation of this approach which has roots in the curriculum offer to students in New College Lanarkshire demonstrating the potential to change the future through local education with further education paving the way to a brighter healthier future in North Lanarkshire and beyond.
