That this House congratulates Nina Hayr on the recognition of her outstanding service by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner; notes that Nina, a grandmother and social worker of 26 years, founded the Friends of Friary StreetWatch group to tackle lawlessness and neglect in her local neighbourhood; further notes that, under her leadership, the group has carried out regular high-visibility patrols since 2018, helping to identify and respond to issues including fly-tipping, illegal parking, drug dealing and criminal damage; also notes the incredible work of the Friends of Friary Larch to foster stronger community ties, encourage active citizenship and promote a culture of mutual care and responsibility among local residents; commends Nina’s compassion, resilience and determination in standing up for her community and inspiring others to do the same; expresses its sincere gratitude for her years of dedicated service; and encourages the Government to explore new ways of recognising and supporting local community champions like Nina, and to help build a society in which more people are empowered and inspired to follow her example.
