Early Day Motion 263
Government response to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman report on communication of changes to women’s state pension age
Tabled 2 June 2026 by Steve Darling
That this House condemns the Government’s continued refusal to provide any compensation to women affected by changes to the state pension age, turning its back on millions of pension-age women who were harmed through no fault of their own; regrets Ministers’ decisions to effectively ignore the recommendations of the independent Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman; notes MPs from all major parties have campaigned for years for fair compensation for WASPI women; and calls on the Government to rethink this heartless decision and give those affected the fair treatment they deserve.
