Tabled 13 May 2026 by Calum Miller

That this House commends and is humbled by the bravery displayed by Ukrainian soldiers and civilians as they defend their country against Vladimir Putin’s invasion, now into its fifth year; recognises that Ukraine’s sovereignty is non-negotiable, and that only the Ukrainian people have the right to determine their country’s future; believes that Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security, and that the UK must continue to do all it can to support Ukraine’s defence; welcomes the leadership which the UK has shown in supporting Ukraine, including through military supplies, humanitarian aid, and financial support; further welcomes the €90 billion loan being facilitated by the EU to Ukraine, enabling the purchase of more weapons to push back Russia’s invasion; acknowledges that £30 billion worth of frozen Russian assets are currently held in the UK; urges the Government to seize the frozen Russian assets across the UK and direct these assets towards supporting Ukraine’s defence and for humanitarian purposes; and calls on the Government to secure the UK’s participation in the EU’s new loan scheme to Ukraine.
