That this House respectfully acknowledges Anzac Day 2026; notes that this year is the 111th anniversary of the landings at Anzac Cove on 25 April 1915; gives thanks for the sacrifice and bravery of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who courageously fought alongside British and other Allied forces throughout the Gallipoli campaign; recognises that people across the world stand with the people of Australia and New Zealand in this important and annual act of remembrance; further notes all the commemorations taking place in the United Kingdom to mark Anzac Day 2026, including the dawn service at Hyde Park Corner attended by Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, the wreath laying led by Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, and the Service of Thanksgiving held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday April 25 2026; appreciates all the work done by the British authorities alongside the Australian High Commission led by the Australian High Commissioner, His Excellency The Hon Jay Weatherill AO and the New Zealand High Commission led by the High Commissioner from New Zealand, His Excellency Mr Hamish Cooper to ensure a fitting act of remembrance took place here in the United Kingdom; and celebrates the strongest bonds of family, shared experience, and common values that bind the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand together, this year and all years.
