Decarbonisation of Helensburgh Cricket and Rugby Club

That this House applauds Helensburgh Cricket and Rugby Club’s commitment to decarbonisation and energy efficiency by successfully retrofitting their clubhouse to make the facility a warmer, more efficient space through the installation of proper loft insulation, energy-efficient heating and lighting, and the fitting of solar panels; recognises the important role played by the Scottish Gas and British Gas Energy for Tomorrow scheme which, in partnership with Team GB, aims to support grassroots sports clubs while contributing to a more sustainable energy future; further recognises that the transition to a low carbon energy system must deliver tangible benefits for local communities as demonstrated by the importance of practical, locally-focused initiatives which combine decarbonisation with cost savings for community organisations.
