That this House congratulates Sarah Boyack MSP for her service in the Scottish Parliament on behalf of residents of Edinburgh and the Lothians; acknowledges her extensive service in the Scottish Parliament since 1999 and role in Donald Dewar’s first cabinet; commends her pioneering work as the first Minister for Transport, including introducing free bus travel for the over 60s and disabled people in Scotland; notes her leadership on climate change, including setting the first renewable energy targets for Scotland and championing a just transition to renewable energy; further notes her service on the Scottish Parliament Environment and Rural Development Committee from 2003-2007, and as Deputy Minister for the Environment and Rural Development; appreciates the collegiate and professional manner in which she conducted her parliamentary duties, earning respect from across the political spectrum; applauds her commitment to encouraging young people and women to get involved in politics; and wishes her well in her future endeavours beyond the Scottish Parliament.
