Timmergreens Primary School, Arbroath

That this House commends the pupils and staff of Timmergreens Primary School in Arbroath for their compassionate and creative act of solidarity with children in the Sumy Oblast region of Ukraine; notes that pupils wrote letters and produced drawings for children in Sumy as part of the Friendship Agreement between Angus and Sumy, unanimously agreed by Angus Council in March 2025; recognises the commitment of school staff in supporting and encouraging pupils to engage meaningfully with global issues; acknowledges that the letters were delivered during a recent visit to Ukraine and were received by the Governor of Sumy as a deeply moving gesture of friendship; welcomes plans for children in Sumy to write back to pupils at Timmergreens Primary School; and believes this exchange highlights the powerful role schools and young people can play in fostering peace, international friendship and solidarity in times of conflict.
