In Memory of Councillor Waseem Zaffar MBE

That this House notes with great sadness the death of Councillor Waseem Zaffar MBE, who passed away on 30th January, aged 44; recognises his distinguished career of public service, having represented the Lozells ward of Birmingham City Council as a Councillor from 2011 and served in senior cabinet roles, including transport, environment, climate change and highways; honours his fierce advocacy for environmentalism and social justice; expresses gratitude for his tireless efforts to champion the residents, businesses and charities of Lozells and beyond; extends its heartfelt condolences to his wife, his three children, and his close friends and family members in this difficult period; expresses deepest sympathies to all who mourn his passing, while celebrating a life of remarkable dedication and generosity; and sincerely wishes that his service, spirit and values may inspire the next generation of Birmingham’s representatives to serve it as honourably as he did.
