That this House marks World Cancer Day; recognises the almost 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK; further recognises that cancer remains the biggest overall cause of death for people in the UK; highlights the previous Conservative Government broke its promise on a 10 year cancer plan that would have made a real difference to patients; celebrates the dedication of charities and researchers working to find effective treatments for cancer patients; and calls on the Government to introduce a guarantee that 100 percent of patients will be able to start treatment within 62 days from urgent referral, replace ageing radiotherapy machines and recruit more cancer nurses so that every patient has a dedicated specialist supporting them throughout their treatment.
