Early Day Motion 2679

British forces on the front line in Afghanistan

Tabled 26 January 2026 by Adam Jogee

This House expresses its sincere gratitude to all members of the British armed forces who served on the front line in Afghanistan with courage, bravery and skill; mourns the loss of the 457 personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in Afghanistan serving freedom, decency and our United Kingdom; recognises the veterans who live every day with the impact of their time on the front line and in uniform; stands with the families that our service men and women left behind in all parts of the United Kingdom; condemns in the strongest terms any suggestion that British men and women in uniform did anything other than serve with distinction on the front line; endorses the Prime Minister’s clear condemnation of any such suggestions from anywhere and anyone including UK allies; rededicates itself to Britain’s full and active membership of NATO; and commits itself to standing up for, and with, British armed forces personnel every day as they keep us safe at home and build the peace overseas.
