Knightswood Secondary School's Advanced Higher uptake

That this House congratulates Knightswood Secondary School for increasing the number of pupils studying for Advanced Higher qualifications by more than 60 per cent; recognises that the number of young people studying at least one Advanced Higher has risen to 55, compared to 34 and 23 three in the previous two years; further recognises that the number of pupils studying two Advanced Highers rose to 22 from 13 last year, and the number undertaking three now sits at seven compared to only two the previous year; commends the hard work of the 12 pupils at Knightswood who achieved A grades in their Advanced Highers, double the number of pupils who achieved this result in 2023; notes the importance of Advanced Highers in aiding school leavers when taking their next steps into higher education and employment, giving them the confidence to apply for more competitive courses and jobs and teaching young people independent study skills critical for future study and work; and wishes this year’s Advanced Higher cohort success in their studies.
