Roots in Falkirk

Tabled 13 January 2026 by Euan Stainbank

That this House welcomes the range of charitable grants and local donations received by Roots in Falkirk, including £600 from the Asda Foundation, £500 from Arnold Clark, £825 through Neighbourly, £500 from Link Living and £3,000 from the Corra Foundation; recognises the vital role this funding has played in sustaining Roots’ foodbank and warm space, supporting families through activity days with meals during school holidays, distributing around 1,000 free selection boxes to children through its mobile Santa’s Grotto, and providing essential Christmas dinner parcels via schools and social work services; acknowledges the importance of grassroots organisations in tackling food insecurity, isolation and hardship; and commends Roots, its volunteers, funders and local residents for their collective efforts in building a stronger, more compassionate and connected Falkirk community.
