That this House notes Less Survivable Cancers Week, which highlights cancers with a five-year survival rate of less than 50 per cent, including pancreatic, oesophageal, stomach, liver, lung and brain cancers; recognises that, together, these cancers account for a significant proportion of cancer deaths in the UK despite receiving a disproportionately low share of research funding; supports the standardised freezing and storage of tumour tissue for all cancer patients, often referred to as Owain’s Law, to ensure access to future treatments, research opportunities and advanced diagnostics; and calls on the Government for improved awareness, faster diagnostic pathways and increased investment in early detection and intervention.
