RESP and St Andrews Aquarium nominated for award

That this House congratulates the River Eden Sustainability Partnership (RESP) on being nominated for the Great British Wildlife Restoration Award, organised by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA); recognises this nomination as a significant achievement and notes that RESP is one of only two Scottish projects shortlisted for this prestigious UK-wide honour; commends the partnership between St Andrews Aquarium and RESP for their vital work restoring the River Eden catchment through a comprehensive source-to-sea approach; applauds initiatives including habitat improvement and riparian tree planting, invasive non-native species management, and citizen science programmes such as Riverfly monitoring and water testing; acknowledges the crucial role of local volunteers and community-led action in tackling the climate and nature emergencies; and wishes RESP every success in winning this award and continuing their outstanding work to protect and restore the River Eden for future generations.
