That this House recognises with sorrow the death of Mrs Betty Caddy on 24 November 2025 at The Royal Stoke University Hospital in North Staffordshire; notes that Betty was a few days short of her 94th birthday; celebrates with gratitude Betty's service to the people of Chesterton who elected her to be their loud, proud and active champion on the Newcastle-under-Lyme District Borough Council, the people of Newcastle-under-Lyme whom she served as Mayor between 1994 and 1995 and all those she worked with and represented; extends its deepest condolences to Betty's family, especially her daughter, Mrs Yvonne Taylor, her son-in-law, Paul, granddaughter, Lauren and her husband Joe and great grandson, Xander and to her sister, Iris and cousin, Gwen; and acknowledges that Betty's funeral service was held at Bradwell Crematorium in Newcastle-under-Lyme on 12 December 2025 with donations gratefully received for the Potteries branch of Alzheimer's Research UK.
