Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh Edinburgh’s participation in UK Parliament Week and promoting debate on single-use plastics in fast food

That this House congratulates Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh Edinburgh for its active participation in UK Parliament Week, recognising its commitment to fostering democratic engagement and civic responsibility; notes that the group used this opportunity to debate the environmental impact of single-use plastics in the fast food industry, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable alternatives; acknowledges the contribution of community organisations in raising awareness of environmental issues and encouraging informed public discourse; and calls on the Government to work with industry, civil society, adults and young people to reduce reliance on single-use plastics, promote reusable and biodegradable solutions, and support education initiatives that empower communities to take action on climate and sustainability challenges.
