That this House congratulates Councillor Jan Brown, deputy provost of Argyll and Bute Council on being named Scotland’s Community Champion at the LGIU and CCLA sponsored 2025 Councillor Awards, which were held in Glasgow recently; acknowledges that this award is in recognition of her tireless work in safeguarding the historic township of Auchindrain, situated in the heart of Argyll, near Inveraray, and which is generally regarded as being the best-preserved example of a traditional Scottish township; notes that the award also identifies the enormous practical support that Councillor Brown has given to many local charities and organisations over the years, making her the outstanding candidate and the deserved recipient of Scotland’s Community Champion award 2025; sincerely thanks Councillor Jan Brown for all that she has done for her Mid Argyll community; and wishes her continued success in the future.
