That this House recognises and pays tribute to Hamish Corrigall of Portree, Isle of Skye, on his retirement after 35 years of dedicated service as a volunteer with the RNLI; notes that Mr Corrigall, a Skye native, first joined the station on 1 November 1990 and served as one of the original crew when the first Skye lifeboat arrived in 1991; further notes his service as a full-time volunteer from 2013, remaining on call day and night while carrying a pager throughout his daily life; acknowledges his role in hundreds of rescues, including the successful refloating of a sinking creel boat off Gairloch; highlights his representation of Portree RNLI at national events, including the opening of the Royal Lifeboat College by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and a garden party at Holyrood Palace; further recognises the high esteem in which he is held by colleagues, the wider RNLI community, and seafarers across the region; and expresses the House’s gratitude for his exceptional seamanship, commitment, and longstanding service to the safety and wellbeing of coastal communities.
