Tetbury Area Youth and Community Trust
Tabled 11 February 2026 by Dr Roz Savage
That this House recognises the essential role of grassroots, community-led organisations in delivering youth services and strengthening social fabric across the UK; celebrates the work of Tetbury Area Youth & Community Trust (TAYCT) as a leading example, providing vital support to young people and the wider community in the absence of statutory youth provision following the withdrawal of services by Gloucestershire County Council in 2011; commends TAYCT’s inclusive approach, from youth clubs and mentoring to wellbeing projects and the Tetbury Friendship Café, which fosters connection and combats loneliness across generations; acknowledges the growing demand on charities and volunteers to fill the gaps left by central government cuts; and calls on the Government to prioritise long-term investment in preventative youth and community services, empower local partnerships, and support the development of inclusive community hubs as part of a national strategy to rebuild local resilience and opportunity.
