What this vote was about
The Great British Energy Bill set up Great British Energy, a new publicly owned clean-energy company headquartered in Aberdeen, backed by £8.3 billion of capital to invest in and own renewable and low-carbon energy projects. It was one of the new Labour government's flagship manifesto commitments. This vote was the Bill's Second Reading, moved by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, at which the House decides whether to approve the general principle of a Bill before it is examined in detail. MPs approved the Second Reading by 348 votes to 95, agreeing the Bill's principle and allowing it to proceed to committee for line-by-line scrutiny. Earlier the same day, an Opposition reasoned amendment to decline the Bill a second reading had been rejected.

How many MPs voted in this division?
441 MPs have an imported recorded vote for this division. Source
What does did not vote mean on this division?
